Jose Mourinho has reportedly held a meeting with Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward in the past week, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The plan was straightforward. To assess the current squad, discuss further additions and evaluate potential departures before the 2018/19. I’m sure Mourinho also wanted to check-in on negotiations with targets and their clubs, too.
During the meeting, Mourinho is said to have identified Toni Kroos as a target for this summer. Although the Independent’s Miguel Delaney previously went on record with this story back in February, so it’s nothing new.

AS claim Mourinho believes the signing of the Real Madrid star ‘could be essential’ to strengthen United’s midfield and also compliment Paul Pogba, as translated by Sport Witness.
It will take an incredible offer to prize Kroos away from Los Blancos. He’s arguably the best midfielder in the world, despite being part of the Germany squad that crashed out from the group stages of the 2018 World Cup on Wednesday.
Whatever happens, there will be no shortage of interest if word gets out that Kroos is available this summer.
