Chelsea to raid Championship club if Willian moves to Man Utd

Chelsea will look to sign Adama Traore if Willian moves to Manchester United, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The Brazil international is facing an uncertain future after falling out-of-favour under Antonio Conte.

United are rumoured to be interested in a potential swoop to sign Willian from the 2017 Premier League champions.

Traore has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain over the past week after impressing at Middlesborough.

Sunday Times reporter Castles suggested that Chelsea could raise the Championship club this summer.

“Chelsea are interested in Traore,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.

“They see him as a potential signing if they have to sell Hazard or Willian. He is certainly not an upgrade on those two.”

Chelsea have a lot of work to do next season whether Conte stays (unlikely) or not. They finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last season, therefore, failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Losing Eden Hazard would be an extra blow and make life harder as Chelsea look to gain entry to Europe’s biggest competition again. The Belgian will clearly miss that next season should he opt to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Still, Conte’s men were 1-0 winners against United in the FA Cup final when Hazard scored the only goal from the spot.
