Man Utd aim to get deal done following transfer meeting this week

Anyone else starting the worry about being stuck with him?

It’s clear Matteo Darmian has no future at Manchester United and that Jose Mourinho doesn’t fancy him.

Even though the Italian press have long said his move to Juventus was near completion, we’re now in the middle of July and still waiting for an announcement.

SW believe the problems started when United asked for €20 million, refusing to quickly back down to Juve.

They claim the Serie A giants offered up to €12 million plus a further €3 million in bonuses, but United held firm.

Tuttosport, cited by SW, believes Juve have since moved on to Valencia’s Joao Cancelo, whilst not ruling out the possibility of the Italian giants signing both players.

The Turin newspaper points out the fact Darmian only has one year remaining on his United contract, so it’s felt by the hierarchy at Juve that €20 million is too steep for a player who will be available on a free next year’s time.

A meeting between Juve and United has been scheduled for Wednesday, as per Tuttosport, so hopefully, we’ll be done with this shortly.
