Man Utd close to selling defender before opening talks with same club over third signing

It had gone quiet on the Alex Sandro front the past two weeks with Juventus reportedly preparing a new contract for the left-back.

But, Turin based newspaper Tuttosport have this morning claimed clubs will continue to try to sign the Brazilian, regardless of a new deal or not.

Sandro, 27, is a player we initially expected to be in a Manchester United shirt this summer before the speculation really quietened down. He is also a player the majority of fans were keen to bring in, although Stretty News understands that Jose Mourinho is no longer prioritising a left-back in this summer’s transfer market.

So, yes, that immediately put Sandro’s transfer to United in jeopardy.

The foreign newspapers aren’t giving up just yet, though. With thanks to Sport Witness, who kindly translated the Tuttosport article, we learn that the outlet named two European giants who are in for Sandro: United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Moreover, Tuttosport hints that United are closer to attempting the signing than the Ligue 1 champions. PSG are said to be waiting on Financial Fair Play regulations to see if they will be able to sign a player of such value.

The report also suggests that Juventus and United are currently in talks over Matteo Darmian, which could soon be ‘extended’ to Sandro.
