Man Utd to complete second summer signing today

Manchester United are set to announce their second summer signing on Wednesday, just one day after confirming that Fred had joined from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to Craig Norwood, Diogo Dalot has completed his medical at Carrington and agreed terms ahead of his move from FC Porto.

The 19-year-old, who has made just eight appearances for Porto’s first-team, will join the Reds for a fee that is in the region of €19 million.

It is understood that the right-back will come in as an understudy to Antonio Valencia, whilst competing with Timothy Fosu-Mensah for the role.

Red Mancunian claim Dalot’s medical took longer than expected due to a small knee injury.

The Portuguese starlet made his debut for Porto in February against Lustiano de Evora, where he provided an assist. He turned 19 in March of this year and has an impressive international record having been part of the European Championship squad in 2016 with the U17s.

However, Dalot has yet to represent Portugal at U21 level, but that is likely to change by the end of the summer.

An announcement is expected today.
