Man Utd days away from announcing first summer signing

It’s no secret that Manchester United have lots of work to do next season to bridge the gap to their rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, and reports suggest we’re set to land our first summer signing to contribute to that.

The Reds finished 19 points behind City in the title race and faced elimination from the Champions League at the last-16 stage when Sevilla got the better of Jose Mourinho’s men.

Then at the end of the season, there was added disappointment when United lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea, which ultimately ensured we ended the 2017/18 campaign empty-handed.

Mourinho now knows United need to seriously push for the Premier League next season and improve in Europe. It wasn’t easy watching Liverpool reach the Champions League final, but thankfully they left Kiev with their tails between their legs.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United could confirm the £52 million signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred by Tuesday, as he prepares to undergo a medical and complete paperwork.

The MEN go as far to suggest a deal could all be wrapped up as early as Tuesday.

With Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini looking increasingly likely to be leaving the club on a free transfer, Mourinho needs one or two midfield additions this summer.
