Man Utd legend urges club to sign La Liga star

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has made it clear he thinks Gareth Bale would do well if he returned to the Premier League. This talk has all come from speculation linking the Welsh star with a move from Real Madrid to Old Trafford as he searches for regular game time.

There’s no doubt Bale is a top player, arguably in the world’s top 5 when fully fit, and he showed in the Champions League final this year that he can still turn a game on its head.

Bale was angered by being a substitute in Kiev for the Champions League final, but that didn’t prevent him from making the big difference when he came on to score a match-winning brace against Liverpool.

“I’ve got a lot of admiration for him as a player,” Neville told BBC Radio Manchester.

“I’d like to see Messi play for United or Ronaldo or Neymar or all these players, but the reality is they’ve got to want to come to the club.

“That’s the first question that needs to be asked.

“If he wants to come to United then absolutely, yes, because he’s a fantastic player and he is a game changer.

“For me, every top club is looking for that player who is the difference, who can turn the big games.”

With the news of Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane is set to leave the club, things could now change for Bale, as the new manager may see him in his teams more frequently.

Bale may well remain in the Spanish capital if that’s the case, but in Manchester, he could become the main man – a status Cristiano Ronaldo won’t let go too easy.

However, Ronaldo has made threats to leave. It’s going to be an intriguing summer, to say the least.
