Revealed: The five signings Jose Mourinho is demanding this summer

The Times on Thursday look into Manchester United’s transfer plans for the summer.

Last season ended without a piece of silverware and fans want to see some new faces as United look to bridge a gap between the point difference with bitter rivals Manchester City.

The Reds also finished runners-up in the FA Cup when one goal from Eden Hazard saw us defeated in the final at Wembley.

Jose Mourinho knows the Reds need to improve this summer if they’re to build on the progress seen in the Premier League last term, so we’re all expecting to see departures and several arrivals.

The Times believe we’re trying to sign five new players.

So much for a quiet summer, eh?

Those players include Belgium international Toby Alderweireld, FC Porto’s Diogo Dalot, Fred, a left-back and another central midfielder.

They also claim Daley Blind, Marouane Fellaini and Matteo Darmain are headed for the Old Trafford exit.

As for the left-back and additional central midfield after Fred, The Times doesn’t drop any names but United have been closely linked with Serie A duo Alex Sandro and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Manchester Evening News has done a player profile on Juventus’ Sandro, who didn’t make the 23-man Brazil squad for the 2018 World Cup.

As for Milinkovic-Savic, a deal that sounds rather complicated with other clubs interested and a hefty price, The Sun reckon he was subject to a bid worth £96 million already this week.
