Mo Salah has some kind words to say about Jose Mourinho

Liverpool star Mohamed Sala has revealed that he ‘learnt a lot’ from Jose Mourinho despite not getting much of a chance under the former Chelsea manager.

Salah made just 19 appearances in one-and-a-half seasons at Stamford Bridge after leaving Basel in January 2014.

Then, Salah went on loan with Fiorentina and Roma before completing a permanent move to the Stadio Olimpico two years ago. A return to England saw him sign for Liverpool, where Salah has scored 44 goals in his debut season while reaching the Champions League final.

But despite what you might read elsewhere, the Egypt international does not look back on his time under the current Manchester United boss with any bitterness.

“I learnt a lot from Jose, from the club,” he told former team-mate Frank Lampard in an interview for BT Sport.

“We would meet each other in Chelsea, and with you, you always used to train alone after training and I saw you do that, I would always come to you and try to improve, and I learnt a lot.”

Unfortunately, Salah doesn’t go into detail about how Mourinho helped him at Chelsea but we’ll take his word for it.
