Manchester United are reportedly keen to bolster their options in central midfield over the summer following the announcement that Michael Carrick will be retiring at the end of the season and that Mourane Fellaini could still let his current contract run down, as per Sky Sports.
The Reds have been linked with a number of potential signings capable of playing this role, but one name that keeps popping up more prominently each time is Lazio midfielder Sergej Milkinovic-Savic.

Milkinovic-Savic, 22, has impressed in Serie A to such an extent United have been tracking him closely.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that the Serbia international is out of Barcelona’s budget range despite the La Liga champions being touted as front runners for his signature as the transfer window reopens.
The report states that Lazio value their man at €80 million and Barcelona – already with Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Sergi Roberto within their ranks – don’t expect need to panic buy to bolster their midfield.
The Serb has 11 goals to his name and three assists from 32 Serie A appearances thus far this season. It is also suggested in the report that Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the player but it is United that lead the way.
