Agent of Manchester United target speaks out about interest in client

Napoli midfielder Jorginho is one of the most sought after players in Europe at the moment, and it’s no wonder Manchester United are interested with veteran Michael Carrick about to hang up his boots.

Managers Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho have been warned they have a fight on their hands to land Napoli star Jorginho.

The Italian international is set to leave the Serie A giants this summer after his agent confirmed ‘several’ clubs are targeting the 26-year-old midfield maestro.

Manchester City are also believed to be involved in the chase having monitored him for months, as per Manchester Evening News.

Jorginho – who arrived from Verona in 2014 – is seen as the anchor in Napoli’s midfield and with their Serie A title challenge well and truly alive, he is regarded as a key factor in their rise to prominence.

He is contracted to Napoli until 2020.

His agent Joao Santos, told Radio Kiss Kiss, according to Sportskeeda: “I’ll talk with the club because Jorginho has another two years on his contract.

“But there are also several clubs interested in him, and we have to understand if Napoli want to move forward with their starters or not.”

Shakhar Donetsk’s Fred has also been linked with both Manchester clubs, who, if you believe the Telegraph, is edging towards a move to Old Trafford.

Now, with reports from ESPN suggesting Marouane Fellaini will renew his deal with United, there may be less of a need to sign two midfielder this summer, although fans would still like to see an injection of quality.
