President has plan for Manchester United target £60 million target

According to The Sun, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen for Manchester United target Gareth Bale to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, amidst rumours linking him with a move away from the club.

Bale’s time in Zinedine Zidane’s starting line-up has been cut — making just 17 La Liga starts this season — with Isco ahead of the Welshman in the pecking order. He was benched again for last week’s Champions League semi-final win over Bayern Munich and will be hopeful his fortunes change tomorrow night for the second leg.

The latest development, as per the report above, suggest Bale has the backing from Madrid’s president to remain with the Spanish football giants.

Bale, 28, suffered calf injuries earlier in the season and fears recently sparked he could leave Madrid and return to the Premier League, report the BBC.

The Wales international signed a new deal at Madrid 18-months ago and has four years to run.

However, Miguel Delaney of the Independent recently wrote a story on United dropping their interest in Bale with Serie A giants Inter Milan being front runners for his signature.

United already have Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on their books and unhappy with the lack of game time they’ve received since January, as reported on Buzz.ie. Signing Bale this summer would just make team selections more of a ballache for the boss.

Time will tell but Bale should really move on if he’s not getting game time at Madrid. A player of his calibre does not belong on the bench.
