Crunch talks set for £100m target as Manchester United are put on red alert

Antoine Griezmann admits he is uncertain about his Atletico Madrid future and says he’s in talks with a club regarding his future.

The Frenchman was set to join Manchester United last summer but decided to remain loyal to Atletico, who had a transfer ban preventing any incoming signings, as per the Independent.

Obviously, the deal didn’t go ahead because Griezmann is still playing got Atletico, but United went on and signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal which may suggest the club are unlikely to go back in for the Frenchman.

Reports from the Daily Mail claim Barcelona are the other club believed to be interested in signing the striker from their La Liga rivals. Already with attacking options such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, one can only imagine where they will fit all these players when push comes to shove.

Griezmann grabbed a crucial away goal against Arsenal at the Emirates in his side’s Europa League semi-final on Thursday but he admits he can’t be certain of staying this summer.

‘If I’m going to continue at Atletico, I don’t know, we’ll see,’ said Griezmann, as per the Metro. ‘We’re talking to the club to see what can be done.’

Right now, I’m waiting on Paul Pogba to upload another teasing Instagram update with his fellow countryman Griezmann to set off United’s online community.

It’s going to be a long summer unless Griezmann or Jose Mourinho come out and put this saga to bed. Whatever happens, I, for one, hope his future is mapped out before France jet off to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.
