Jose Mourinho told reporters during Friday’s press conference there’s “no chance” David de Gea will leave Manchester United this summer.
On deadline day in 2015, De Gea was very close to joining Real Madrid but the paperwork wasn’t submitted in time, as per Sky Sports.
Madrid have been linked with a move for the Spaniard ever since with growing concerns over whether Costa Rica international Keylor Navas being good enough, with reports from several outlets including the Express.
Losing De Gea would be a disaster for United. Not only is he the best goalkeeper in the world, replacing the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper would be as difficult if not worse than it was after Peter Schmeichel left. It took Sir Alex Ferguson years to replace the Dane but Edwin van Der Sar finally arrived in 2005 following a transfer from Fulham.
And Mourinho, speaking ahead of United’s clash with Arsenal this weekend, stated emphatically that his keeper wasn’t going anywhere.

As far as we’re concerned it’s a relief to have these stories dead and buried before the transfer window opens for the summer. I, personally, couldn’t deal with another summer of De Gea saga.
It goes without saying he’s our most important player right now, with consecutive Player of the Year awards in the past.
