Alexis Sanchez risks upsetting Arsenal fans with response to being a Manchester United player

Alexis Sanchez is understandably excited as he prepares to face his former club when Manchester United host Arsenal on Sunday.

On the back of his best performance yet as a United player, our no.7 will be hopeful of replicating that when Arsene Wenger takes his Arsenal side to Old Trafford for the last time.

Sanchez admits he is still adapting to the contrasts between the clubs.

“It is very different here,” Sanchez told MUTV. “I think United is a club with more history and we want to win trophies next year.

“We need to keep progressing; United is a big club, to which I am still adapting, and I am looking forwad to giving everything I’ve got next year and aiming to win everything there is to win.”

It won’t be until next season we see the very best of Alexis Sanchez but his tireless performance at Wembley last weekend was certainly an indication of what’s to expect as he settles with his new teammates.

Sanchez became tired of mediocrity at Arsenal and had no other choice but to force a move. Robin van Persie, who was Arsenal captain, went through the same thing before joining United and winning a Premier League title in his first season.

These comments are unlikely to go down well at the Emirates, but you would be hard pushed to find Arsenal fans, truthful to themselves, that can disagree with anything Sanchez told the club’s official channel.

We are bigger. We have more ambition. We spend big and constantly aim to improve. Can you say those things about Arsenal?

No. No, you cannot.

  1. “I think United is a club with more history”. Someone needs to teach Sanchez the meaning of the word. It took Man Utd until 1952 to win their third league title. By that time, Arsenal had won six including three in a row. That’s history.
