Barcelona academy goalkeeper joins Manchester United on trail

Zan-Luk Leban is on trial with Manchester United while the club continues to scout Eastern Europe for the best young football talent.

The Slovenian goalkeeper, 15, is a product of the FCB Escola Varsovia academy in Warsaw and has been invited to train with United’s U18s.

Wieslaw Wilczynsk, honorary president of the academy, which was established by Barcelona, accompanied Leban at Carrington. He said:

“At the invitation of Manchester United Zan-Luk Leban of the Escola Varsovia trains at the academy of the famous club with U18 players. Promotion of the brightest players is one of the most important goals of the Escola Varsovia Academy.”

Leban has already trained at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, so it’s unlikely that he will be shell-shocked training with United’s youngsters. Nonetheless, this is good experience for the youngster and hopefully he can make an impression.

If United U18s avoid defeat against Manchester City on Saturday they will be confirmed as champions.
