Dutch newspaper suggests Van Gaal will continue managing United next season

For most of the season, there have been reports about Louis van Gaal losing his job as manager of Manchester United. The rumours have been circulating because the team has not lived up to online predictions prior to the season and big names like Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been linked as replacements.

Despite all previous rumours, there are new reports that Van Gaal could remain at the club after the season is over.

According to a Dutch newspaper, Manchester United officials have given Van Gaal new assurances about his future with the club, and is expected to return next season.

Van Gaal has one year remaining on the three year contract he signed with the club in 2014. Last year, he led the team to a 4th place finish, leading to high expectations going into this season.

After a slow start to the year, United started turning things around but had a few disappointing finishes along the way, leading to the scrutiny Van Gaal has been under this year.

United are currently 5th in the Premier League after 31 games, 16 points behind league leaders Leicester City. The club also suffered early exits in the Champions League and the Capital One Cup, which means the club can only win the FA Cup this season — an honour eagerly anticipated by fans.

Jose Mourinho is one of the names that keeps coming up when talking about Van Gaal’s replacement. Former United player Ryan Giggs has also been mentioned as a possible replacement if the Dutchman is fired this summer.

Despite the report by the Dutch newspaper, most signs still point to the club parting ways with its manager. United are supposedly going on tour of China this summer and Van Gaal’s image was not featured in any of the promotional pictures of the tour. While it isn’t a big deal in most situations because clubs would rather promote their star players, it is a big deal in this case because Van Gaal is one of the most recognizable managers in the game.

The newspaper reported that Van Gaal still has the confidence of the clubs management and he was instrumental in making sure that the team only played two games during their trip to China. The paper also said that the board will give Van Gaal an £80 million transfer budget to improve the team during the summer with players like Romelu Lukaku, who is allegedly one of the club’s top transfer priorities this summer.

One of the biggest complaints United fans have about Van Gaal is his team’s style of play. With so many talented offensive players on the team, fans were hoping for a fast paced approach to attacking, which would be fun to watch. Unfortunately, Van Gaal’s offensive philosophy differs from theirs, and the team has the second lowest goals total of all the teams in the top half of the Premier League standings.

If Man Utd Board decide to stick with LVG, MU fans show your people power, by not renewing your season pass and ensure that you fans will not purchase the tickets for next season (2016/2017), If the thinks they have the POWER to decide than you guys have the last say by not attending the games at OT. Let the MU Board members and their family and LVG family, watch the games at an empty stadium. Teach the Board a lesson, guys. This is the only way to kick that arrogant LVG out ot OT. Pls do it. “PEOPLE POWER” is always the greatest assets……
