Each week you select eleven players in hope of clocking up more points than your counterparts, therefore, I have gone for the following team in a 4-3-3 formation considering this weekend’s fixtures.
Joe Hart
For City and England, Hart has been fantastic this season. It helps that his club are defending well again and I can see another clean sheet on Saturday. That would make it Hart’s fifth consecutive clean sheet in the league.
Seamus Coleman
This right back will feature regularly in my weekly team. Considering how Roberto Martinez is the type of manager that puts more responsibility on his full-backs, that is how Everton can cause Chelsea trouble this weekend.
Aleksandar Kolarov
Although Kolarov has only scored once this season, he’s a defender you always fancy to get on the scoresheet. And there is already foundation being laid for a good understanding between Raheem Sterling and the Serbian. Watch out, Palace.
Nathaniel Clyne
For years Liverpool have looked unconvincing in the right back department but since signing Clyne from Southampton it’s an entire different story. Solid defensively and good going forward, this England international will clock up points this season. It will be an intriguing battle with Memphis Depay.
Aaron Cresswell
Yes, another full back. Simply because they’re more likely to enter the opposition’s box than your ordinary centre back which excludes the likes of David Luiz. Cresswell, as a full back, often goes under the radar, but is regularly part of West Ham United’s build up play and makes things happen on an attacking front.
Jonjo Shelvey
A player that has found his level at Swansea City and has blossomed since moving from Anfield, Shelvey has vastly improved under Gary Monk. He can shoot from distance, find the perfect pass and knows when to put in a tackle. However, containing his temper will always be challenge.
Andre Ayew
As a Premier League newcomer, Monk looks to have found a gem in Ayew. The former Marseille man is a real threat in front of goal and Watford may be in for a trimming bearing in mind the way Swansea are performing at the moment.
Pedro
It’s been a difficult start for the Stamford Bridge club but things are going to change soon. Pedro, when Manchester United are concerned, is the one that got away. When unleashed he will cause defenders nightmares.
Sergio Aguero
I can’t help but fear the worst for Crystal Palace this weekend. City are firing in all cylinders yet their Argentine talisman has not fully kicked into gear. It’s bound to happen at some point and you can bet Palace are shaking in their boots.
Wayne Rooney
Earlier this week Rooney broke the all-time goalscoring record for the England international team, surpassing Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton who scored 49 goals for the three lions. A lot has been written about Rooney not being the player he once was but he’s starting to get into the swing of things again. Although it’s rare that he performs against Liverpool, I think many will be eating their words this weekend.
Harry Kane
Yet to score for Spurs this season, Kane will be raring to go against Sunderland. He’s done it on international duty so there’s no reason he can’t do it again this weekend. Unleash the beast!
