Press Conference Notes 7/08/15

We’re back with weekly round ups from Louis van Gaal’s press conferences. Thankfully they will be more frequent this season with involvement in the Champions League.

The biggest relief of all is the fact that Manchester United go into their first game of the season versus Spurs without any injuries, although David de Gea, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marcos Rojo will not feature.

De Gea’s transfer to Real Madrid is still very much in the air with the manager saying due to emotions and stress playing the goalkeeper would not be the right thing to do. If that is the case it’s about time we shipped him off and looked elsewhere for a number one. This cannot be good for the player or those around him in the dressing room.

Argentine defender Rojo is simply not match fit as he was the last player to join up with the squad this summer. Schweinsteiger, on the other hand, is still not 100% and won’t be rushed into the starting eleven.

Signing and selling players can be difficult, so van Gaal will not be disappointed if the club don’t bring in anymore players. We are however confident that a certain Barcelona forward will be making his way to Manchester shortly.
