Report: Robin van Persie undergoing Fenerbahce medical

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Robin van Persie is having a medical with Fenerbahce in England.

The Turkish club is looking to add van Persie to their attacking options having already signed Nani from Manchester United this week.

Whether or not United meet Fenerbahce in Europe next season it looks like they will have a dangerous attacking force behind them.

Di Marzio has been incredibly reliable thus far this summer, especially on United’s agreed deal to sign Matteo Darmian which is expected to be announced later today.

Van Persie’s exit will leave Louis van Gaal with just three strikers and one of them – Javier Hernandez – is still expected to be off this summer. That means Wayne Rooney and James Wilson, also linked with a move, on loan to Hull City, will be the only forwards available.

That will create problems if Rooney picks up an injury throughout the season so United are surely eyeing up front men around Europe despite none being reported.

    1. @omaga paschal: Do you still consider Robin van Persie ‘a star’ after the last two season? He’s clearly past his best and United need to move him on to free up the wages for someone else. Another star will arrive.

  1. LVG is using a very bad strategy, how can he focus on selling strikers with out negotiating with their perfect replacement; Know Falcao and Angelo have gone, Rvp is also going, Chicharito is likely to be sold to Monaco and James Wilson is likely to be loaned to Hull City. Where is LVG and Woodward going to get good strikers yet getting good strikers like Lacazatte, Kane, Benzema and Carlos Bacca has defeated them; they should learn to use good strategies; Thanks.
