Memphis Depay witnessed his first training session as a Manchester United player at Carrington on Monday.
The 21-year-old has only returned from a summer break and he’s already eagerly awaiting the club’s pre-season tour of America.
United fly out to the States next Monday where they will encounter four pre-season friendlies: Club America, San Jose Earthquakes, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Going to the US with United will be an eye opener for Depay, who is already in the spotlight being Louis van Gaal’s only signing so far this summer. Although, that may not be the case next week with a deal in the process for Matteo Darmian of Torino.

It is always exciting to see a new signing perform for the first time and Luke Shaw has already welcomed him to the squad.
Good session back with all the lads today and good to be training with Memphis for the first time! #MUFC 👌🏻⚽️ pic.twitter.com/UCG3xZ33De

Both players are young and have a lot of learning to do but Shaw in particular has a huge season ahead of him. He faces stiff competition from Daley Blind for a place at left back and if the England international can get a break from injuries there’s going to be a clear winner.
In regards to Depay patience will be required.
What? Pictures of the session show both Shaw and Jones training….is that before they got injured tripping over a pylon or line marking?
