Number of clubs monitoring Radamel Falcao

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has claimed that a number of clubs are monitoring Radamel Falcao as it looks increasingly likely the Colombian will be leaving Old Trafford in the summer.

Manchester United have an option of permanently signing the 29-year-old for £43.2 million at the end of the season after signing him for a season long-loan in the early stages of September. The Reds paid a £6 million loan fee for Falcao’s services along with his £265,000-a-week-wages.

Vadim Vasilyev told the BBC:

“I’m not worried for Falcao, he is a world-class striker.

“If Manchester United decide not take up the option at the end of the season, we have interest from other great clubs. So I am really not worried for him at all.”

The striker has scored just 4 goals in 19 games for United, which makes an average of a goal every 4.75 games.

Louis van Gaal made his opinion on the situation clear, as he said in January:

“If a player costs £95m or £5,000, it doesn’t make any difference. You have to prove yourself. We have made this deal and everything is clear.”
