Jamie Carragher, the scouse burglar

Jamie Carragher joined Gary Neville for the first time on Monday Night Football this week to analyse Manchester City’s 4-0 hammering over Newcastle.

The pair appear to be friends off the pitch as opposed to rivals on it, so there’s already been a bit of witty humour used in their punditry combination. When discussing Robin van Persie’s brace against Swansea at the weekend, Neville said the Dutch striker was like a burglar inside your house – but you have no idea what room he’s in.

Neville: “Marking Robin van Persie is like having a burglar in the house – but you don’t know which room.”

Carragher: “You’d be under the bed”

Neville: “You’d be the burglar.”
