Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Monday as we look to claim the Premier League title.
Despite many football betting fans accepting the Premier League is ours this season, we still haven’t won it yet and Sir Alex Ferguson will want to take three points on Monday and finish the job off quick.
Villa, however, have got a fight on their hands at the bottom of the league and we should expect a plucky contest under the Old Trafford floodlights. Here are the players online betting fans should most watch out for:
The Belgian striker is the only reason why Villa are not already relegated with 19 goals for the club in his debut season. Almost all attacks go through Benteke and with Villa likely to play a counter game Nemanja Vidic must be ready to drop off a yard.
Villa have struggled at the back all season and boss Paul Lambert has thrown 23-year-old Lowton in at the deep end with 40 appearances since joining from Sheffield United in the summer. He’s a competent defender and has an eye for goal (as seen against Stoke two weeks back) and his speed means he will stay on Luis Antonio Valencia’s tail all game.
The former Wigan winger has never really fulfilled his potential at Villa Park but a goal last weekend against Fulham proved he can threaten on his day. The left flanker should work Rafael all afternoon and that battle could prove the key to Villa scoring.
Villa’s goalkeeper has kept just one clean sheet in 11 but that came at against Man City when Lambert really needed a win. Villa are three points away from the drop zone and a clean sheet on Monday could greatly improve their survival chances. Guzan has the credentials to pull off a top-class performance and keep United at bay.
