PICTURE: Van Persie celebrates winning goal with Ferguson

Robin van Persie ended his two-month goal drought at club level to wrap up Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Stoke on Sunday. The result restored our 15 point lead on top of the Premier League.

Van Persie, aged 29, went 10 matches without scoring for United before brilliantly finishing a 66th-minute penalty at the Britannia Stadium. It counted as his 20th goal of the campaign.

You don’t see many players run to Ferguson after scoring, so it was nice to see Van Persie do so. Since arriving at Old Trafford last summer he has been a class act.
