Stretford End Flags are marking the 55th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster with a giant surfer flag to be unveiled before Sunday’s game with Everton.
The memorial to Sir Matt Busby’s side bears a design suggested by Gary Neville and features the image of the Busby Babes that took on Red Star Belgrade prior to the devastating crash. The former United captain recently stated the image will be used to inspire and motivate players.
SEF hope to lay the flag out on the Stretford End while both teams are in the tunnel and during the handshakes. The group confirmed via Twitter that the flag will be presented at all the big homes.
