Ashley Williams gets away with incident that ‘could have killed’ Van Persie

After Robin van Persie had been fouled at the edge of the box, Ashley Williams intentionally kicked the ball off the back of his head. As a result, both players were booked. Williams for being a thug and Van Persie for his reaction.

In his post match interview, Sir Alex Ferguson claimed it was one of the most dangerous things he’d seen during a match. “The Van Persie situation you can clearly see that he could have been killed,” he told Sky Sports.

The FA today has decided not to take action against Swansea captain Williams for blatantly kicking the ball towards Van Persie after the whistle had been blown for a foul committed by Nathan Dyer.

What will the conspiracy theorists make of this? United get all the decisions.

  1. I think what the non-MU fans will make of it is that common sense prevailed. They may also reflect that Fergie’s outrageous comments about the match referee (who got all three decisions that Fergie questioned right) warranted a substantial fine, which the Man U manager escaped when others would have been banged to rights.

  3. A HUGE CLUB LIKE MAN U DESERVES BETTER SUPPORT THAN THIS. SMALL MINDED SCUM SUCH AS THIS DO NOTHING BUT BRING SHAME AND EMBARRASSMENT TO A GREAT CLUB.

SAF SIMPLY TRIED TO COVER UP THE POOR DISPLAY OF HIS TEAM BUT CAME OUT WITH A SENILE RANT. THE REF HAD A GREAT GAME AND DIDN’T ALLOW HIMSELF TO BE PRESSURED INTO DECISIONS BY WHINGING MANU PLAYERS SQUEALING AT HIM TO GIVE NON EXISTENT FREE KICKS AND OR BOOKINGS.

SAF, BLESS HIM, IS BEGINNING TO ACT HIS AGE AND IS IN DANGER OF TARNISHING HIS LEGACY WITH SENILE REMARKS OF AN OLD MAN.

ROBIN VAN-PRECIOUS REACTED NATURALLY TO BEING STRUCK BUT, THE ROCK THAT IS ASHLEY WILLIAMS DID NOT DELIBERATELY KICK THE BALL INTO THE BACK OF THE LITTLE DIVERS HEAD.

  5. Oh get a grip – No action from the FA, two of his previous managers saying Ash is not a nasty player, other managers saying it wasn’t a big deal & Ash himself denying he kicked the ball at his head on purpose & wanting to apologise anyway. So, Ash didn’t ‘intentionally’ kick the ball at his head. Don’t try to portray it as such.

Common sense prevailed… should be more professional like the top team in Manchester….
