Stretford End Flags – Surfer flags and new banner space at Old Trafford

Stretford End Flags, an independent supporters group, received positive news from Manchester United this morning regarding surfer flags and more banner space at Old Trafford.

United are now in favour of the use of surfer flags within Old Trafford and SEF will be exploring the possibility of how they can best use them for match day. Stretford End Flags are currently seeking ideas for a new surfer banner design, which they hope to get funded and produced. The flag is likely to cost in the region of £5,000.

SEF are looking for design suggestions from all Manchester United fans and the preference would be for a design that is unique to United.

The group have also been allocated more space within Old Trafford to hang banners, so banners will no longer be restricted to the Stretford End. They are looking into getting the Sir Alex 25 years banner fixed on the Sir Alex Ferguson stand.

SEF told us: “Once we have more information, we will keep you updated, but in the meantime, keep thinking of designs for a large surfer flag.”

Design Ideas can be submitted via the SEF forum or on the Stretford End Flags Facebook page.
