Giggs: In England all but the City fans hate Mario Balotelli

Since arriving in England, Mario Balotelli has received plenty of attention for his actions both on and off the pitch. Ryan Giggs made a few comments regarding the 21-year-old, speaking at the 2011 Golden Foot Award which he won.

“He is very good, but also a little strange,” Giggs said at the event.

“In England all but the City fans hate him. But trust me, he is very talented.”

The veteran also spoke about revenge on Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona side if we reach a point in the Champions League where we get drawn against them. Giggs was part of the squad that lost in the final, last season.

“Hopefully. We want to win the trophy,” he said when asked if United can win the Champions League for a fourth time.

“If we face Barcelona it would be the opportunity to have our revenge.”

  1. with the last 5 games i’ve watched i think man-u will get beaten by city on sunday and that they are nowhere near barcelona. the reasons being, 1.they have thrown away the quick passing tiki- taka possessive game they had at the beginning of the season and slamped back to their last seasons long and high passes luckluster win-by-luck and pass-the- ball-just-in-case style this is a result of interchanging player positions all the time so the team doesnt get to be perfect in their positions and to click with one another 2. complacency 3. inconsistency inapplying their new style of play 4. lack of at least two more new creative central midfielders so that when cleverly is injured man-u’s new style gets dead 5. playing older players who should only be coming in in late second halfs or to sort out errors made by the minors the young ones are able to run in attack all out and rush back to defense for 90 minutes something the likes of giggs cant do.
