Carlo Ancelotti full of praise for Ferguson and Cleverley

Last season Carlo Ancelotti didn’t have the backing to overcome Sir Alex Ferguson in the Premier League. This was part of the reason Roman Abramovich sacked him as Chelsea boss. The news that he had been sacked raised many eyebrows, including Ancelotti’s. They also failed to replace him with a manager of such experience.

Another factor of Abramovich’s reason to sack the Italian manager were the defeats his team faced against Sir Alex in the Champions League – nicknamed the holy grail whenever Chelsea are mentioned in the same conversation. Despite getting the rough end of the stick afterwards, Carlo is full of praise for Ferguson.

Ancelotti has always admired Guus Hiddink, who is now in control of the Turkish national team. In an interview with La Repubblica he spoke about his admiration for our Scottish boss.

When asked if Hiddink was still his favorite manager, Ancelotti replied: “Yes… or maybe not. The more time goes on, the more I fall in love with Ferguson.”

As more questioned were asked about Sir Alex, Carlo explained: “As a coach, he is unusual. It’s not as if he guides the training sessions because he delegates a lot and has an excellent staff.

“With him, all players improve, he can take a little-known Korean (Park Ji Sung), and to make a column of Manchester. He has no fear of introducing youngsters for example this season he introduced Cleverley into the team, a very strong 22 year old midfielder.

“Finally, and very important for me, he is a very good person and is very humble.”
