Has there been an argument between Manchester United and Nike?

When the groundsmen at Old Trafford began their shift after full-time Tuesday night, a numerous amount of them entered the old scoreboard end and took up some of the white seats replacing them with red ones. Those white seats made up Nike’s famous swoosh logo as they are one of United’s many sponsors.

After receiving these images this morning from a friend, I spent a few minutes thinking about it. The white seats that were positioned there in the first place might have gotten dirty and the club may have ordered more and for the time being, they are using red seats as a replacement.

However in December 2010, the Glazer family believed they could banish concerns over Manchester United’s £526 million debt by securing a world-record kit deal worth around £450 million before their agreement with Nike expires in four years, 2015.
