Match Report: Wolves 2-1 Manchester United

During the warm-up Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, picked up an injury and is now expected to be out for a few weeks according to Alex Ferguson, who chose Jonny Evans ahead of Chris Smalling. Looking on the bright side, Rio won’t be playing for England in their mid-week fixture against Denmark in Copenhagen – you know how much we hate our important players playing those stupid* internationals.

We weren’t at the races today, the defense was no more than sloppy being at fault for both of Wolves goals. Manchester United couldn’t of started the game better though, scoring on the third minute, with a wonderful strike coming from Nani. This start gave me the impression that we were going to run away with the game – maybe another victory to remember like that one 7-1 win against Blackburn earlier this season.

England’s captain didn’t even tweet showing his delight for Nani’s goal – as the camera went on him in the stand he didn’t look a bit happy…

Seven minutes later Wolves full back, George Elokobi, scored an equalizer. This effected the away support immediately and the Wolverhampton fans started singing their chants.

Nani nearly scored his second after twenty-eight minutes when his free-kick from 20 yards went over the crossbar by just a few inches.

With just five minutes from half-time, Kevin Doyle claimed a goal that put Wolves a goal ahead of the Reds, leaving them go into their dressing room 2-1 up.

As much as I’m disappointment about today’s result, I have to be honest about it in saying Manchester United didn’t deserve anything from the match – I think you all would agree that we would have been very lucky if the game ended 2-2, what a relief that would have been.

At least Manchester United are still top of the league 4 points ahead of Arsenal, who were held to a 4-4 draw against Newcastle United earlier today. Hopefully the bin dippers can keep Chelsea to a draw tomorrow – we wouldn’t like any of the scum winning would we?
