Evra Totally Focused On United… Not Madrid!

News earlier broke that Patrice Evra is committed to Manchester United and may extend his contract after his representative confirming that he isn’t interested in a move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. Newspapers around the country have been linking United with Everton’s Merseyside born left back, Leighton Baines, ever since reports came out that Evra had been unsettled since the World Cup and wanted a move to Spain.

Evra signed for Manchester United in 2006 for a fee of £5.5million from French side AS Monaco, however Evra has become one of United’s most important players playing after playing a key role in winning the Champions League in Moscow, 2008.

The French man’s contract at Manchester United expires in 2012 and reports in Spain claimed, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho was planning a raid for the left back.

Federico Pastorello said:

There is definitely no truth in a move away from Manchester United.

It is true his current deal expires in 2012, but he is very happy at United and is excited about how well the current season is going.  We will talk in the summer. We have never spoken with Real Madrid as Patrice is focused on United.
