Match Report: Manchester United 2-0 Sunderland

Dimitar Berbatov again caused defenders trouble by scoring both goals in the boxing day fixture against Sunderland.

Manchester United started lively with the first goal scored 5 minutes after kick-off, even the commentators thought it was going to turn out like the 7-1 victory against Blackburn not so long ago.

Sir Alex Ferguson was forced to leave Nani and Fletcher out due to injury & illness but it’s thought the pair could feature in Tuesday’s game against Birmingham meaning Park and Carrick get the rest. Maybe that’s something Carrick needs even though he didn’t feature in the 2010 World Cup.

Another brilliant performance from Anderson who gave  Ryan Giggs an amazing through ball setting up the first goal headed by Berbatov from a Wayne Rooney cross at the back post.

Overall it was a good performance from the side, a better game from Carrick this time round but there is still a plenty of space for improvement. I just hope we see a new side to him in 2011.

Manchester United are now on an incredible 17 game unbeaten run, sitting just two points ahead of Manchester City with two games in hand so there is every right to be confident going into the year 2011!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!
