A poor first half was followed by an entertaining second half which Aston Villa looked likely to take three points from Manchester United. But the never die attitude came out again as The Red’s pulled back two goals in the closing minutes.
I think it’s crystal clear Manchester United didn’t perform in the way we all expected but Mike Dean (referee) being a w*nker didn’t help one bit. I’d like to know exactly the amount of times he blew against Javier Hernandez because I felt it was becoming a joke.
Patrice Evra looked either unfit or very tired, his reactions were all over the place which is very unlike the French international. Evra came off injured against Manchester City last Wednesday night so hopefully that’s the case because many reports claimed the full back had his door open to Real Madrid if there was interest from Spanish giants.
Michael Carrick impressed me against City but he was back with another dreadful performance Saturday. There were lots of reports during the summer linking Carrick with a switch to Newcastle and if his form doesn’t improve I don’t see him being at United much longer unfortunately.
On the 70th minute Wes Brown took Ashley Young down inside the box and Villa were awarded a penalty. Wes Brown I felt escaped with receiving a yellow card. Ashley Young sent Van Der Sar the wrong way and Aston Villa were one ahead.
Six minutes later Villa went two goals up when Stuart Downing set up Albrighton at the far post. I felt like turning the television off at this stage but what proper Manchester United does that?
Manchester United pulled one back on the 81st minute with a superb strike from Federico Macheda. The goal was well worked and Fletcher’s backheel added that bit of class to it.
We started attacking like we used to0 and another goal came from it! This time it came from Nemanja Vidic who was spotted alone at the back post by Nani.
With five minutes of extra time being added there was still belief that we would squeeze in another goal but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
Next Saturday we take on Wigan Athletic, our prediction for this game is a 2-0 win for The Red’s.
