Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic revealed today that he was delighted to have team-mate Rio Ferdinand back beside him in the heart of defence.
Ferdinand has already made a difference by helping Manchester United keep two clean sheets against Valencia and Sunderland. This was a huge relief because some of us were starting to worry about the silly goals we were conceding due to a lack of quality defending.
Vidic told Sky Sports: “Rio played against Valencia and Sunderland and looked fit and I watched England’s game against Montenegro, when he also looked very sharp.
“I am glad he is fit and I hope he doesn’t have any more injuries because over the last couple of years they have caused him so many problems.
“Hopefully this year he will be ready. If he is, it will be like a big signing for us.”
