Match Report: Valencia CF 0-1 Manchester United

After a disappointing result against Bolton last weekend some fans over ‘Twitter’ were unsure when I asked for their score prediction’s to tonight’s encounter against Valencia. I obviously wanted the result but I was also looking for a good performance by our defenders who haven’t been performing of late conceding too many goals.

Rio Ferdinand played alongside Vidic for the first time since he picked up the injury training with England ahead of the World Cup in South Africa. There was also a start for Rafael Da Silva who took John O’Shea’s position at right back. I felt we had our best back four out tonight who looked comfortable at times plus keeping a clean sheet against a team who had many chances but failed to succeed in scoring from any of them.

Anderson was back tonight and made an impact straight away getting involved in nearly everything during the first twenty minutes. He looked hungry to win back support from many fans who have doubted him over his party life. Even though Anderson had a good game we still didn’t hold our midfield very well which put a lot of pressure on our back four.

Hernandez scored the goal which was set up by Macheda who was only on the pitch less than one minute after coming on as a substitution for Dimitar Berbatov, another great move from Sir Alex!
