Paul Scholes reckons a victory on Sunday against Liverpool will prove Manchester United’s title credentials. Scholes says United must deliver against the top teams this season if they are to have any hope in clinching that one above Liverpool, 19th league title!
Scholes told United Review: “I don’t think we’ve been too great against the top teams over the last few seasons.
“There was a time when that was our real strength: beating the best teams and going on to win league titles. It certainly helps to do that, so we have to be aiming to beat Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea more regularly than we have been doing.
“It will be tough. Liverpool have plenty of dangerous players. Steven Gerrard is one of the top players in the world, and Fernando Torres is getting back to full fitness after the World Cup. But hopefully we’ll get the right result.”
Manchester United and Liverpool didn’t get the start of the season in which both looked for so that could make this Sunday’s match even more exciting!
