Dimitar Berbatov feels Manchester United will get the best from him seeing his decision to retire from international football.
Bulgaria open their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign against England at Wembley so Berbatov may think he’s missing out there but he should be thinking about this season with Manchester United! This season could be Berbatov’s last chance to show the United fans he’s got what it takes to wear that red shirt which kids dream about. What a way of starting getting Manchester United’s first goal of the 2010/11 season.
Berbatov has said that his mind was made up long before the draw.
“Everything comes to an end at some point. I said to myself a long time ago that when I got nearer to 30 I would step down and let the younger guys take over.
“You need to know when to stop and that was the right moment for me.
“Now I can concentrate fully on my football with United, have a bit more rest during the season and enjoy watching my country.”
Thank god for that, watching Berbatov during the pre-season he looks like Ferguson gave him a good kick from last season. Its his last chance I would think, and what fool wouldn’t try to take that chance to play for Manchester United? I was delighted last night to see him smiling and enjoying himself. I don’t think we have seen that smile before have we?
