Manchester United failed to surprise 2-1 defeat against Kansas City Wizards in there third game of their 2010 pre-season tour. This result is super result for American “soccer” but not for Manchester United. I don’t think I’ll be the only person to say this but the referee was just terrible, there isn’t a word to describe how bad he was with not just one or two mistakes there was many of them.
Nani who missed the world cup due to injury played 68 minutes at Arrowhead Stadium but didn’t do much to be totally honest. As I said on every match report of this tour “end product” was the problem.
Manchester United were awarded a penalty which saw Jimmy Conrad sent off for the Wizards. Berbatov stood up to take the penalty which he had no problem with as he placed it down into the bottom corner. I really hope this is a start of something for our number nine, I really do! Berbatov’s goal was to make things level at 1-1 but soon after the Wizards yet again hit the back of the net.
Late in the second half Manchester United started to hit fire but it was to late as the Wizards worked their magic in defence. Overall the performance for Manchester United was nothing to be proud of and it needs picking up on before the season starts.
Next game is against MLS All Stars at the Reliant Stadium. Be expecting yet another match report after that match.
