Vidic Stays With Manchester United

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has decided to re-new a long-term contract with Manchester United, according to club chief executive David Gill. The deal that the defender is currently under is up in two years time, but the long-term extension to his contract has been agreed by United and Vidic.

Nemanja was linked with a move to Real Madrid who were said to be willing on paying around £20 million for the center half. The past few days many of our contacts on Twitter have been a bit angry about the chances of losing one of our best defenders.

David Gill said: “I am very pleased to confirm that we have agreed terms with Nemanja on a new long-term deal with the club.”

Gill is supposed to be sorting another extension contract with Wayne Rooney which means we will be hearing more good news pretty soon.

Even though Vidic has decided to stay I still want to see Jonny Evans getting a season of many starts. I see Evans becoming the best Defender in England in years to come. A we can’t forget about Chris Smalling, so the future looks bright for Manchester United even though we haven’t signed any big names! Did we really need to?
