Van Gaal: Newcastle play with a high rhythm

Louis van Gaal believes Newcastle’s expansive style of play will suit his team tomorrow night in their Premier League encounter.

Manchester United will be seeking another 3 points at St. James’ Park in their quest to secure a Champions League position for next season.

Van Gaal’s side beat a 10 man Sunderland last weekend at Old Trafford but our away from has been atrocious (3 wins on the road). However, reading Edward Harrison’s Newcastle blog, the Magpies don’t sound too confident.

“They always play with a very high rhythm, they want to give a lot energy and the fans are supporting a lot,” van Gaal told MUTV.

“They want to play football – I like that. I hope it shall be a good game and we shall win.”

The Reds beat Newcastle comfortably on Boxing Day at Old Trafford in a 3-1 win. Van Gaal recalls the performance and win as well deserved.

“I remember the fantastic goal Wayne Rooney made after a fantastic counter.

“I have seen it again, as always before a match, and I think we played well. The win was well deserved; we could have scored more, but it is always like that.”
