Two confirmed starters for Manchester United’s FA Cup semi-final vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United travel to Wembley on Saturday where they will take on Tottenham Hotspur in an FA Cup semi-final.

Both teams were in action during the week picking up different results. Spurs drew 1-1 with Brighton on Tuesday, while United travelled to Bournemouth 24 hours later and won 2-0.

Jose Mourinho stuck to his word and rotated his squad for the trip to the Vitality Stadium which saw seven changes made to the start eleven. Matteo Darmian, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw and Marouane Fellaini all came in, whilst Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku were rested from the bench.

New signing Alexis Sanchez sat out the entire game. The Chilean may be an easy target but given his recent form, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mourinho decided to drop him as a warning call to get his act together.

Speaking after the game on Wednesday night, Mourinho confirmed two players who will be facing Spurs this weekend with both Antonio Valencia and Nemanja Matic rested with the FA Cup tie in mind.

“Obviously I am going to change the, I am not going to repeat this team. I gave a rest to Matic, I gave a rest to Antonio Valencia, with the objective of at least having a couple of players fresh. But all of the players told me they are here, and they want [to play].”

Dabid de Gea and Lukaku is others certain to start.
