Report: Manchester United interested in Harry Kane

It was first speculated in May that Manchester United were interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. The fee touted at the time was £45million which we rightly laughed at but reports now suggest Daniel Levy wants an extra £5million if the England international is to leave White Heart Lane this summer.

The 21-year-old was prolific for Spurs last season and was named PFA Young Player of the Year having finished the season in impressive form – scoring 31 goals in all competitions.

Manchester United’s top goalscorer Wayne Rooney ended the Premier League campaign with 14 goals and it is believed that Louis van Gaal is in the market for a new striker after deciding not to take Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal.

According to Sky Sports, Kane is on United’s radar and widespread reports earlier in the window suggested Spurs would want £50million for the striker.

Kane looks like a bright up and coming striker but after one season I do not think anyone could justify such a hefty valuation. However, it is Levy we’re talking about after all.
