According to speculations emanating from both Spain and England, it is believed Manchester United will make a sensational bid for Atletico Madrid hit man, Antoine Griezmann. The 25 year old France international is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford to herald the start of another era of dominance and improve the club’s lines for Soccer, as a deal in the region of £75m is being mooted. Manchester United is ready to make a deal on Griezmann with such amount, because Mourinho believes that Griezmann will help the club bring back the Premier League crown which has eluded the club since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2013 when they last won it.

The Daily Mail reports that Griezmann is being targeted by United as a marquee signing, to help the club both on and off the pitch, though the struggles of world-record signing, Paul Pogba has been documented. Pogba, though is believed, will still come out good and the presence of his countryman and friend will do a lot of wonders to his belief and confidence.

Manchester United was linked to the mercurial forward while he was at Real Sociedad, but was unwilling to cough up £30m for a relatively unknown player. This time, though, they are ready to break the bank to signal a statement of intent as they look to roilugh up with the big boys at the top end of the table. They face competition from the likes of Chelsea and PSG for his services, but, the presence of Pogba could well be a motivating factor in any move. His coach at the Vincente Calderon, Diego Simeone will leave the Rojiblancos in the summer of 2018, and it is expected Griezmann makes a move also. His current contract runs out on June 30, 2021, so Atletico aren’t obligated to sell.

Griezmann has developed into one of the world’s best players under ‘Cholo’s’ guidance. He has formed a lethal partnership with Kevin Gameiro this season. After scoring six times in the European Championships of this year, he has scored 8 goals and assisted a further five in his fourteen appearances this term, as his team sit third on the Liga Santander table.

The left winger/forward is a fast player, who has a cultured left foot, positional awareness and remarkable finishing. He is equally adept at linking up with his teammates and weighs in with a fair number of assists too. Manchester United need all the inspiration they can muster, and Griezmann will surely give them a lift, if eventually signed.

It is still early days, though, but Manchester United will be in the race for him.
