Moyes spotted at the Vicente Calderon to watch Atletico’s Koke?

David Moyes was spotted at the Vicente Calderon for Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 Champions League win over Porto and was believed to be observing January transfer target, Koke.

The failures of last summer’s transfer window are well documented and Manchester United are eager to get a jump on the competition and secure the services of a top midfielder.

Koke has been the breakout star of the Champions League this season and has been rumoured to be on the top of Manchester United’s wish list with a release clause of €24 million.

However, Atletico Madrid sporting director, Caminero doesn’t buy into the speculation and told Canal+ after the match that he believes Moyes was on a scouting trip ahead of the Champions League draw as the two sides may be paired against each other.

“I guess David Moyes wanted to come and see a Champions League team like ours.  They advanced to the next round as well. We spoke, but he didn’t tell me precisley what he was there to see.”

Yet, the man in question, Koke, brushed aside the speculation and committed his future to Atletico Madrid.

“I didn’t know he was here. I’m not worried, I renewed my contract this summer.”
