Matteo Darmian a step closer to joining United

Manchester United were in talks with Serie A side Torino last night about the valuation of Italian full back Matteo Darmian.

According to Sky Italia, there is little difference between United’s rejected bid and Torino’s asking price, meaning a deal is very likely to go ahead.

The Italian publication also suggest both parties are hopeful to reach an agreement on Tuesday with United adamant to get a few deals done before starting their pre-season tour in America.

Gianluca Di Marzio is the only real source providing figures at the moment saying Torino have given United a valuation of €18 million with a €2 million worth of bonuses. He also states that the reds have reached agreement with Darmian’s agent, so developments are ongoing.

Turin based newspaper Tuttosport also have a big feature on this deal going ahead. They explain how Darmian is on holiday until mid July and that he’s left everything to his representatives to sort.
