Manchester United eye USA goalkeeper Patrick Schulte

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Columbus Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.

The USA shot-stopper has emerged as an option for a number of Premier League clubs after Schulte’s impressive performances that helped his side win the MLS Cup.

Those displays have been rewarded already with the Crew keeper handed his first senior cap against Slovenia in January. Nottingham Forest’s Matt Turner is the United States’ current first choice goalkeeper.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old has been scouted extensively as Premier League sides such as United and Arsenal consider a summer move.

The future of Altay Bayindir remains unclear and I don’t think anyone would be surprised if he decided to leave at the end of the season, for the sake of his own development and career.

However, it remains to be seen if Bayindir is happy playing second fiddle for another year at Old Trafford. Third choice keeper Tom Heaton turns 38 next month.

Arsenal are expected to sell Aaron Ramsdale, who wants more regular first team football.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United should be after Schulte or other players in the MLS.
