Manchester United media chief Phil Lynch tipped for by Chelsea move

Chelsea have recruited former Manchester United media chief Phil Lynch.

Lynch held the role as CEO of digital products and experiences, but the Daily Mail claims he has handed in his notice at Old Trafford and is set to join BlueCo, the US consortium which bought Chelsea as global head of digital.

The report states that Lynch has been placed on gardening leave by United – but we shouldn’t expect any crazy compensation demands unlike a certain Newcastle, who are delaying Dan Ashworth’s switch from St James’ Park to Old Trafford.

Lynch wasn’t a popular figure among fans. Many saw his role as Head of Nonsense which makes him a perfect fit for Chelsea.

The new Chelsea recruit was involved in a row with former United captain turner pundit Gary Neville in 2021.

Neville accused him of “creating robots” at the club after an embarrassing video emerged of him explaining how the club works with players on social media, as per The Sun.

I highly doubt any fans will be losing sleep over Lynch’s exit.

Good riddance.
