Romano also claims Amad wants to ‘respect’ Sunderland by rejecting Boro, after spending last season on loan with the Black Cats.

The 21-year-old returned from a long spell out with an injury recently and came off the bench in the 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.
